The Pitch:
Cover Mock-up
Braveheart meets Usagi Yojimbo with a sci-fi twist.
(Anthropomorphic animals in a medieval setting
with spaceships.)
Premise:
The Kingdom of Ten takes place in our own
future after the universe and all existence has
been destroyed and re-created. All the known
races of people, including humans, now populate
the Physical Realm on the ten planets in the
Dukahn system. They are all ruled by one
patriarchal monarchy, the Shogutahn Kingdom
(hence: The Kingdom of Ten).

Spirits called the Serafolk journey to the Physical
Realm periodically to create engines for the
people so that they can build structures around
them, making spaceships that are controlled by
telepathy. Swords, bows and arrows, and spears
are the weapons of the day in this medieval
society run by the Supring, a contraction of the
title “Supreme King.”
The Story:
The Kingdom of Ten begins with a tale involving
Garrett McFellen, but the story as a whole is
really about the coming-of-age adventures of his
son Konnis McFellen as well as Konnis’ friends
Guinevere, Mofashi, Bydo, and Galfen (Bydo’s
godfather). They are all part of the Elodane sect
that functions within the Shogutahn Kingdom.

As the story begins an old enemy sect of the
Shogutahn Kingdom has resurfaced. This army
of pirates wages war on the Kingdom, throwing
everything into turmoil. The Supring decides to
send a secret group of warriors to quell the
threat before it begins.
